Company Founder to Remain Chairman of the Board of Directors

Cambridge, Mass. – January 06, 2005 - WebGen Systems Inc., provider of advanced software for energy conservation and control in commercial buildings, announced today that Mark A. Noyes has been named chief executive officer and president. Noyes, currently WebGen’s president and chief operating officer, succeeds David R. Weaver, WebGen’s founding chief executive officer. Weaver will continue to play an active strategic role as chairman of the Board of Directors.

“Mark is an exceptional leader for WebGen. As a veteran in the industry and a key player of the company already, he brings relevant and proven experience to the position, making him the natural choice,” stated David Weaver. “I am confident that Mark’s vision and leadership will secure WebGen’s continuous strategic growth and long-term success.”

Over the past few years with Weaver and Noyes in leadership roles, WebGen has grown at a rate of over 400 percent annually and is positioned as the leading enterprise energy management company in the market.

“This is a very exciting time for WebGen. We have a highly driven and creative group of people, an award-winning product, a loyal customer base among Fortune 100 companies, and a staggering growth rate,” said Mark Noyes. “I will seize this opportunity and work closely with the management team to accomplish the company’s objectives and advance WebGen to its next phase of growth.”

Prior to joining WebGen Systems four years ago, Noyes spent 15 years with Consolidated Edison Company. As vice-president of asset management and domestic acquisition, he directed all asset acquisitions and management activities. Additionally, he served on the board of directors of several Con Ed subsidiaries.

“Mark’s deep understanding of the industry, coupled with his energetic management skills, have been pivotal to WebGen’s growth over the past few years,” continued Weaver. “Therefore, I am convinced that he will successfully lead WebGen in the pursuit and attainment of the company’s goals for the future.”
